WMG Internship Programme
Are you a student, a graduate or a postgraduate interested in eight to twelve weeks of paid work experience?
As part of the WMG Internship Programme, you will be placed at a manufacturing company and supervised by a member of the WMG staff who are experts in their field. You will work with your supervisor and the company to investigate a real-world business challenge. This experience will help you gain a wide range of new skills, as well as putting the theory you have learnt in your degree into practice.
What projects will you carry out:
Supported by a WMG supervisor, you will work on a project defined by the company, applying your science and engineering knowledge to help them meet a challenge or exploit an opportunity. Typical projects include product development, materials testing, software and systems development, automation, electronics, and innovative business models.

How do our internships work?
This opportunity involves carrying out projects with support from a WMG supervisor, where applicants apply their science and engineering expertise to address challenges or leverage opportunities identified by partnering companies. Projects cover various areas such as product development, materials testing, software development, automation, electronics, and innovative business models. Examples include robotics and automation projects, productivity improvement, and polymer processing.

The WMG Internship Programme taps into a talented pool of students, graduates and post-graduates across the UK to help you find the best candidate for the business challenges you aim to tackle. As part of the programme, the intern is supported half a day a week by a WMG Engineer, to ensure that your project is delivered timely and at a high standard.
